Here's the truth: there is more than one way to enjoy a game. Perhaps the card game UNO is the most notorious for it, however, many games have variations to them. And, Carrooka Pool8 is no exception.
The base game of Pool has been around for hundred of years - it has tonnes of variations people play by, and Carrooka has its own spin on these rules to accomadate for the new format. Does that mean you have to play by the written Carrooka rules? Absolutely not!
Our philosophy with any household game is, as long as the people at the table agree on the rules, and everyone is having fun, then you're playing it right. With that in mind, here are three variation rules you can try out when you play your next game of Carrooka Pool8.

Rule 1: The Clean Break Rule
"At least 4 pieces must hit the rail or go in a pocket off of the initial break". This is a straightforward rule that, honestly, I figure most people inheirently follow with enthusiasm (after all, who doesn't want to see the pieces fly everywhere).
This rules really just helps for that odd case of someone who doesn't want to do the break, and tries to avoid it by lightly tapping the pieces in the centre.
Rule 2: Scratch Rules
"On any type of foul, the player shooting next gets to return the striker to the break line".
This reverts the new Carrooka rules back to a more original type of Pool play, where the striker gets replaced every time there is a foul. Just note, that this is in subsitution to the bonus shot rule, NOT in addition. If you're playing with this rule, it is just replacing the striker to the break line.
Rule 3: Calling the Pocket
"When you are going for the black 8-ball, you must call the pocket you intend to sink it in. Any other pocket will result in an immediate loss of the game".
Of the variation rules, this seems to be the most popular.
